What is it with hair that holds such power? Black women are forever confronted with the “relaxed” vs “natural” question. thanks for writing about an issue that i (surprise) hadn't really thought about before. i agree that people of color educating white people about their own racism is not the way things should work at all. on the other hand, how many white folks are educating themselves? maybe a lot of us need that nudge to start doing our own work/reaching out to help other white folks do the same.
