I love coming home and finding an e-mail in my inbox that tells me a piece has been accepted for publication.

Congrats, Lynn. Is this a regular occurence, or a singular occurence? Either way, awesome. Oh, and I still would love to see some of what you've been writing sometime if you're up for it. Maybe just point me in the direction of said publication?

It's the first time I'll get published since leaving K, and the first "post-K" writing to get accepted. Someone told me a few weeks ago that 11% acceptance rate is average, and 15% is stellar. My current batting average is over 60%. This is either a false sense of security, or I'm a banging writer.

Did I send you "Soundtrack to a Writing Career"? I thought I sent some works your way a while ago, but maybe I forgot. That's the one that got in. Plus, I found out today that I get to attend the release party where my drinks will be free. The real world rocks, potato!

I don' think I got them, or they got buried in my inbox while I was too busy to notice. If I stop now my acceptance rate will stay at a healthy 100%. Too bad that online journal is now defunct, and the Cauldron doesn't count so much.

I'm going to overdose on writing next quarter with two indpendent studies (one with gail, one with di) and critical theory. I'll also be looking for work and a new place to live. The real world is fast approaching.

What other schools did you apply to for grad school? Why'd you go with Naropa?
