That is precisely why I refuse to eat airline food. I bring some Rowntree's fruit gums and that suits me just fine. :p

The only time I ever had edible food on a plane was when I got upgraded to business class as an apology for a delay making me miss my original connection!

Virgin Atlantic press office have confirmed that Sir Richard called the writer personally and invited him to come to the airline's catering house next month, to help select the food on future Virgin flights.
