The topic of the articles I have selected is inequality for women. The first article “Marked: Women in the Workplace” by Deborah Tannen explains how each and everything a woman does is labeled and judged. ok what i don't get is why women and men are even compared at all, i mean the only real way to set things equal is to realize that they are not, women and men are built differently mentaly and physically, and should be treated appropriatly, and i am not about to make a joke that women are better at somethings and men are better at somethings. neither gender is generally smarter or better, men have more muscles and also a bigger superiority complex, women are less muscle bound and often, weather they like to admit it or not often let themselves have the backseat to guys. it may very well be because they have been taught that to do this, but i don't really know about that. i just see a lot of girls who have very little self-worth and who don't speak up or even stand up for themselves against guys when they guys should be the ones having to stand up for themselves. if it is the way girls are taught then something has to change about that ( ... )

haha, i didnt even mean to post that. i was just sticking it there so i could print it tomorrow! buuutt. i do agree men and women are different. but the point of my essay is that they are socialized to be different. women are taught to take the "backseat" and to put others needs before themselves.and men are taught to put themselves first. whether it is done knowningly or not schools, parents and television teach us that men and women shouldn't be measured on the same scale. and thats the thing that needs to change!

haha no it was intresting...and i don't think that the fact that we aren't measured on the same scale needs to change, i think we just need to stop trying to compare at all...men and women are differen't, we think and act differently. we are designed that way so why not just accept it and treat eachother with the respect both sex's deserve.
