Last Wednesday, I guess it was, 31 or so students went to Vallejo High School for a student exchange. It was really fun there... And very diverse. Everyone was friendly. My buddy's name is Maricel. I went to her TA class and the teacher was really funny. He was saying stuff like "Maricel, I saw your boyfriend and he looks like he just came out of the jungle. He needs some sandals. He ugly!" So that was fun. Oh my, oh my. Bradis (sp?) is *huge*! He gave everyone a hug and everyone was broken.
Thursday I left school early to pick up two Korean students... But when I called Linda back she said they were hitting traffic so I returned to class... That was productive. So I met them at the dance center around 3:30 I guess and we were there until maybe 4:30 and then Su-Jin, Su-Ok and I went to Windsor to pick up Hannah from TaeKwonDo. Mr. Hauth made the little kids say stuff in Korean and all sorts of randomness occurred. He also gave them t-shirts. After that we went to my house for a little bit because William had a baseball game. We got to the game and watched that for awhile. The Orioles (Will's team) kicked some butt x a lot. We went back to Hannah and William's and we ate dinner. Wendy came home and then we went to Linda's and picked up Su-Jin and Su-Ok's luggage. Rather exhausting day.
Friday I dropped off Su-Jin and Su-Ok at Linda's and went to school a few minutes late. That night Jon, Chris and Kevin came over for dinner. Jon confused the hell out of *everyone*. Then I went to my mom's friend's house and picked up my dress and went home.
Saturday was the day of many things. It was the day of prom, the day Nathan came home, the day of Julian's gig and the day of the performance that the Korean students were here for. And the day we had our anti-prom in San Francisco. Now comes my take on the story, as previously recorded by Conan.
I think the best part starts with Jon cutting across 3 lanes of traffic... So we in the Mercedes (Chris, Liz, Pei, Dan) are wondering what's going on. We call and find out Jon needs water for his radiator. So we need to turn around... But we're past the last exit before the Golden Gate. We drive across the bridge, down 19th, turn around, go back across the bridge, get off at some weird exit that doesn't bring us back south, get back on the freeway going north, get off the freeway in Sausalito (not to be confused with sausage or sauce) and go back to give Jon the water we had left in Chris' water bottle. Then we go to San Francisco again... We're following Jon who has a new plan because we aren't going to Pier 39 and following our old route because now we are not on schduele. All of a sudden he crosses 2 lanes of San Francisco traffic and pulls into Valero gas station. Of course we Mercedes folks are thinking Jon is being an assish driver, and then we think he's getting gas... But wow! His car is steaming! So we add radiator fluid to the car and take off. Somewhere on Polk Jon parks his car and we notice that, again, its steaming. The fish store smelled nice too. So Jacob is calling people to get the number of our restaurant to try and delay our reservations because if we don't show, I was going to be charged $175, which for some strange reason I wasn't really up to. The restaurant agrees to push our reservation back to 8:30, buying us some time. During this time Jon notices that the cab of his car is wet and minty fresh. Yay! Radiator fluid, anti-freeze and water! With the smoke and all, we decided Jon was having a rave in his car. It was quite nice. So at this point we relize the Corrado isn't really drivable, but the fish man won't let us leave the car there because of the meter and blah blah. So we take Kramer in the Mercedes, which means we are not 1 person over the number of seatbelts in the car. We find a garage and park the Corrado. Now's the fun part: putting 7 people in a 4-person car. Jon gets trunk, Dan and Chris get front, Pei and Kevin get back seatbelted seats, Kramer gets bitch (no seatbelt) and I get Pei's lap... But this is clearly not legal so I have to lay down with a map on my back. We go by some cops and everyone is tweaking out, but eventually we make it to the Metreon parking garage, park, and go to dinner. Dinner was pretty good. The sorbet was *really* good, as was the Crush Salad. Highly recommend it. There was a cyborg sitting at a nearby table, along with some really loud "tipsy" people. Um then we get to go back to the Corrado. So yea, Jon gets trunk again. Kramer and I were going to ride in the trunk, but it was too small... So I sat across Kevin, Kramer and Pei's laps and we head back to the Corrado with my neck at a rather painful 90 degree angle. We get there and call a tow-truck to get the Corrado... We have to use Chris' AAA card, though, because Jon only has a 5-mile tow. Yea. We hang out in the parking garage, while being yelled at by angry Asian garage people, and take lots of pictures and what not. The tow truck comes and Jon and I go home in it, with the last 5 people in the Mercedes. They drop Dan off and now there are a legal amount of people in the car. I don't have a seatbelt again because the tow truck is ghetto... Speaking of the tow truck... On several occassions the driver has seen UFOs. And he doesn't kill ants because God doesn't kill us. And he likes his wife, but she is just a material possession. His kids will be fine if he dies because he has everything taken care of. He was also in the navy. And sleeping in a broekn truck in the desert does not scare him. And then I pretended to sleep. Jon and I sat at the mechanic's shop in the Corrado until Kevin came to pick us up and then Kevin took us home, singing the Notorious MSG. Then I went to sleep and was tired. Home at 1:15, talk to Su-Jin and Su-Ok, go to sleep.
Sunday my mom wakes me up at 11:00. I was going to go with the Korean students to the beach, but they actually had a relatively busy day planned and I was too tired to wander around. So I spent the day kinda watching TV and I slept from 3-5 when I got up again. 6:00 we went to Linda's for a pot luck. That was fun. Su-Ok and Su-Jin pointed at this one guy and politely informed me that he was my age. Hahaha. He told me that he loves basketball. His friend told me "Hello. Fine, thank you" because that makes a lot of sense. And then I took my mom home around 9 and went back. We decided to play spoons. Consequence: if you lose, everyone slaps you on the wrist. Sometime during this it was decided that with that many people playing, being hit would hurt and the loser had to sing and dance for everyone, including the adults. One guy got S-P-O and then Peter Suk joined in and he and Brandon decided to get the kid the O-N so that he would lose because he was furthest along in the losingness. Peter Suk, mind you, is a rich grandfather. Very nice man. Anyway, everyone was injured because SPOOONS is kinda violent. -_- We finally go the kid to lose and then he had to perform. He sang a song and then the guy who is my age beat boxed while he danced. Apparently he can do back flips from a standing position. Yea. And then Ray danced. And then Ray and one of the Korean girls swing danced and cha-chaed. And then the kid who is my age rapped. And then I think we went home.
Today the Vallejo kids came to Carrillo. That was a lot of fun. Braidis hugged me again... Not as painful the second time around. Yes. I'm done now.
