Pretty soon I'm going to be in an airplane for flights totaling approximately 18 hours. There will also be downtime in the airports. I need reading material. There are pre-reqs:
  1. Thick book: 1,000 pages
  2. Inexpensive: less than $10
  3. Something I can pick up at the Borders on Clark/Broadway and Diversey

I've read Cryptonomicon, but the other four are options. They will be added to the list and once a decision is made I'll post it. Why? ...in case you were wondering what I bought? ...to give you the satisfaction of knowing that you kick ass at suggesting books? BECAUSE, damn it.

I'm going on a Mediterranean cruise! Mom and I are going to fly from Chicago to Barcelona and we've got stops in Valletta; Naples; Rome (Civitavecchia); Florence / Pisa (Livorno); Cannes. It's gonna be awesome!!!

I've read a lot of Gaiman's work, but not all. I tried reading Anansi Boys and just hated all of the characters. Had to stop reading.
