Right now healthcare in America is a roughly 2.4 trillion dollar market. I'm afraid that when the democrats are done with it it'll be a 5+ trillion dollar market, with a drop in quality of care.
That's how socialist healthcare works. It's inherently inefficient. I cannot imagine how our economy is going to support the reforms that the democrats want. Either the economy is eventually going to break under the pressure, or healthcare is going to just go way down in quality. Neither option is very encouraging. Of course, I found neither option very encouraging in this presidential race either.
Nobody is addressing the root cause of our healthcare problem, which is the chronic illness epidemic.
We were all doing really well watching the speech until he mentioned the puppy. For some reason that set us off and we started bawling. And we found out during lunchtime, so the only option was to classily drink champagne from the convenience store and go find a real bar to celebrate at.
