Heh, I love this. It's really cute how Evan courts David with little gifts, and he doesn't realize it. :) And David never quite looking him into the eyes is a nice little detail as well.

...he tried to keep the semi-sentient plant’s roots from wandering out of the pot again. This is so cool. We need more fics with sentient plants for David!
