Sometimes, I wonder if I'll ever have that kind of mother-son relationship. When I first moved away, I was the first of her (2) children to even leave the home for longer than a week. I think seeing my excitement to be out pushed her to really challenge her emotions and our daily reliance on eachother. She was great at vocalizing this at the time, too - Telling me how much she would miss me, but was reading up on college living, etc. etc. etc. The first year, she called a little more frequent, and we emailed about twice a week. Then my second year that slowed, to where it was the monthly phone call to talk about coming home plans. And now I'm trying to improve the communication a little, as is she. :) So it's nice. Everyone has their own family dynamics. It's kind of fun to know others'
