I find that I am spending too much time thinking of other people when I should be focused on the murderer I promised Al-san that I'd help look for.

I am worried about that teacher, Itoshiki-sensei, that wishes to die. I am also worried about Mikami-kun.

And Light...He...

I am worried about Light.

We can't thank you enough for your assistance, L-san.

Is Light-san with you?

Oh, I love doing this job, I just find it a bit stressful at times. It is an honor to be able to assist you.

Yagami-kun is with me as much as I wish he wasn't and I have recruited him in the investigation. He doesn't seem too opposed to the idea.

I'm glad to hear that, L-san.

You seem rather kind. How can you be as such...If the stories I have heard are correct life hasn't been as kind to you as it should have been. This leaves most people bitter.

Welcome back, Mello.

I am not sure what your comment meant, exactly, because you neglected to clarify what isn't happening, but I am sure you will explain so I can tell you that whatever it is, in fact, is happening.

What the hell do you mean by "Back".

I'm dead, you're dead, Matt's dead, and THIS ISN'T JAPAN! So where the hell are we?

You were here before...twice...but I am going to assume you, like Yagami-kun, forgot everything you experienced and we are once again at square one.

I am dead. You are dead. Matt is dead. Yagami-kun is dead. Mikami-kun is dead. Everybody except for the task force and Near are dead. But somehow we are here and I have yet to figure out why do to my distractions with Yagami-kun and his decision to kill more people here...

This place is called "Ville de Lumiere", and it's a city of second chances. I have the feeling you don't want one though...just a hunch.

What is the difference between me, who sees the inevitability of my own death and wishes only to speed the inevitable, and the masses, in denial of their own immortality? Dying is the only free will man has, and despair only sight of the truth.

The difference is I do not know them and I have seen enough death in a lifetime to want to see anybody do more, especailly a teacher...I am sure that would upset your students...

Dispair is truth? No, only if you choose to see it that way.

[OOC: Eep! Forgot to switch journals! Forgive...]

My students probably wouldn't give me a second thought, save for Rock Lee, whose enthusiasm puts me in despair.

Why is there a letter "L" in the word "Noel"?

It makes me wonder...and I figured you'd say it puts you in dispair.

As for Rock Lee...why is a good student a bad thing?
