...Right. Well, I'm just going to go crawl under a rock now, because I'm a total idiot who got this done way after it was due. Because I suck. I SUCK.

Other than Axel and Sora being themselves (and the references to Riku trying out the goth thing, the many lines I've already quoted to friends--namely the ending with the metaphors, the Flaming Kia, and the phone calls Axel made to Sora), this story? It's... like... verbatim my history with my best friend, Gannon. Well, you know, not verbatim, but so damn similar I was reading this with a massive case of nostalgia and "Did I ever tell her about Gannon and me?"
Like, some major differences would be the fact that he's gay and I'm, you know, straight (and a girl, to boot), and that I'd be the Axel in this scenario and he'd be the Sora, despite the fact that I'm the brunette and he's the redhead. I read that line about ditching prom for the movies and I just went, "Whoa. I mean, clearly other people have done this, but did she know we did this?" And those phone calls. I used to pull those on Gannon all ( ... )

And I'm just psychic like that. Fear my awesome psychic mojo. Well, either that, or my muse is psychic. No, actually, a lot of this came from my personal high school experience (only the prom thing was actually homecoming, the Flaming Kia is a result of the flame-painted MiniVan, and the phone calls... well, actually, two out of the three phone calls actually happened).
You're very welcome. I'm really, really glad you liked it. =D

This was...so sad. D= Like, seriously, it was so sad to me. But in the same way, it was more of a melancholic/nostalgic kind of sad, which I think is mostly attributed to the remember when feeling of the whole thing.
And maybe it was sad because you addressed the characters, the relationships, in a realistic way--in that, hey, people, happy endings don't always exist. You don't always stay together, everyone you were close to before. Life happens. Sometimes people grow apart.
But either way, this was really cute, and a great, great read. =D

Yeah, I was going for realistic. Happy endings are fine and dandy, but I like my reads real too, and things don't always work out with the best friend you've had since kindergarten or your first love. People growing apart is just part of life, and that's a very big thing to me that I think people sometimes forget. It's kind of sad, yeah, but I always thought that "Don't cry because it's over, smile because it happened" was a pretty awesome motto, so. I'm a bittersweet ending kind of girl. I kind of feel guilty for making you sad, though!
Thanks for reading! I'm glad you liked it!
