You sound the way I did when I first went to uni. In my opinion there will always be a part of you that is homesick, here I am, I stayed 10 hours by choice because I wanted to and I still get homesick but you shouldn't let the homesickness overwhelm you. I came home twice a month last year and I lived 10 hours away. That is A LOT of time wasted traveling just to eat a home cooked meal, or sleep in my bed. Now I will only be going home 3 times in the 8 months of school and I don't mind.
