I got my learners permit today! Yes... I am almost 38 years old and just got my learners. Never really needed it in Winnipeg and couldn't afford a car. But we have a car now, and getting to work is costing me 300.00 dollars a month, so I will learn to drive and start driving to work. Will save a good 100.00 dollars. And... I got my license as a teen but I didn't drive until I was 35 or so :)

I had my learners back at the age of 16 but my family didn't have a car (my dad was blind, my mom never drove) so there was no point in paying for it.

But now we have the car and I have now been driving for just over 6 months in very busy expressway traffic! LOL.

*laughs* I own a car, finally. I love George. We don't have huge express ways here, and I've never been brave enough to drive in a city down South.

Anchorage has no expressways? That's cool. I can imagine it would be scary to drive in some of these cities in the US.. LOL. I am actually happy I got my license here in NYC that way I know how to drive with the best/worst of them!

I bet Alaska is amazing. I have a friend whose husband is in the canadian army and is posted in Eagle River (I believe that's what it's called) up in Alaska. It's just gorgeous. One day I'll get to Alaska. :)
