I'm pretty sure the judge was Ariella, a fairly well known belly dancer who I've taken lessons with. Awesome! This is on "the list" for next year :)

I'm glad you like it! I have so many photos, that need -so- much culling (the comi-tragedy of digital cameras). I've been going to Burning Man for almost a decade, and I see my fascination with it waning, so I'm trying to mount the task of explaining myself before something else steals my attention completely.

That sounds fantastic. ilcylic owes me a match there sometime, but I have to get my butt to some event where the Thunderdome is to do it. (I don't think I'm a Burning Man kind of girl.) So, I'm glad you had fun, and thanks for the informative writeup!

Wow! Sounds like an intensely fantastic experience, and also a lot of fun! Thanks so much for sharing the stories (and matching it with the photos).

Very cool! How many people total do you think could fit onto that cage the size that it was?

At least 150- there are probably 80 on the ground level, maybe 50 on the next level, 30 above that and 10 or 15 up near the top. I'd have to see a far-off photo to get a better estimate. On the ground, people are stacked in 3 or 4 deep.
