NAME:
Leticia “Leti” Madrazo Carriedo
NATION/STATE:
Mexico
AGE:
23
PRIOR JOB TITLE:
Waitress at a restaurant but she was desperately looking for something better at the same time.
EDUCATION:
College Grad, first generation (like most of her other siblings) :D
HAS YOUR CHARACTER EVER COMMITTED A CRIME? IF YES, PLEASE EXPLAIN:
Nope.
DID YOUR CHARACTER JOIN NATION CORP. WILLINGLY?:
Well, since both Antonio and Alfred were offered a job at the same company, she figured “why not?” So the answer is yes. She also figured it was that needed upgrade from waitressing. Though she liked the job itself, her coworkers were absolutely horrible and she wanted to do something with that college degree.
SKILLS:
(I read that as “kills” for a moment) She’s very fast and efficient with sorting documents and making sure everything is in its proper place. She’s also a fabulous cook (sweets are not her specialty, however) and is very good with customer service.
PERSONALITY:
For the most part Leticia is a pretty go with the flow kind of a woman who wears her emotions on her sleeve. She isn't afraid to tell people what she's feeling though she's pretty perceptive at reading a situation and acting professional when she needs to be (even if she doesn't want to). Though she isn't really quick to anger in any way, certain things DO set her off and when the fire's lit, watch out. She is not afraid to lash out verbally to put a person in their place and if they've pissed her off enough, she's not above physical confrontation. She's also very stubborn and can hold grudges for a surprising amount of time. However, in normal circumstances she's a pretty agreeable person and is pleasant to those who are pleasant with her. She's anything but shy and loves to meet new people. The only time she clams up around someone is if she has a romantic interest in them. This is something she is not happy about (it reminds her of middle and high school children) and is working hard to correct it.
A great indicator to her mood is found by watching her lips. The more pursed they are or the tighter they're pressed together, the more irritated she is.
PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION:
Leticia stands at a modest five feet three inches without heels (and upon starting work she will find herself wearing heels much more often). Her skin is richly tanned though since moving from Arizona to New York, she has found her complexion beginning to lighten due to all the time she spends inside. Her long wavy hair is a very dark brown, almost black, and is almost always pulled back in two braids. Her eyes are a deep brown as well and she has a small mole on her cheekbone, right under her left eye.
At work, she prefers to dress somewhat professionally, usually in a simple pencil skirt and blouse, but when outside the office she is much more casual. Her dress almost always one of various cotton tiered skirts or dresses and her blouses range from short sleeves to strapless. She is not adverse to wearing jeans, however, but this is usually reserved for the fall and winter seasons. Growing up used to the heat, Leticia doesn't do very well with cold weather.
HISTORY:
Leticia was born into a large family of seven, with all older sisters and a few younger brothers. Though she was born in Mexico, her family made the move to California when she was four years old. Her father, who had been working in the States for the past three years, had worked enough as a cook to allow the family to illegally move from their home across the border. It was there that she later entered into kindergarten, despite no one in her family knowing almost a single word of English (aside from their father). She struggled for the next two years until the family moved to the suburbs of Arizona and she into second grade. It was then that she met Alfred, her new next door neighbor. Though they were several years apart and the two only knew each other for a few years before he ended up moving away, the two were fairly close although they had a tendency to argue a lot. Today Leticia thinks that it’s safe to say that she has the most amount of blackmail material against Alfred that anyone can ever have against a person. Or at least her mother does (it’s amazing what a simple picture can capture). But in any case, other than that she lived a rather uneventful childhood for the most part. However she threw all of her energies into her schoolwork and eventually this was recognized enough for her to be able to receive a scholarship to a college in New York (same as Alfred, incidentally).
Leticia also happens to be the younger cousin of Antonio on both their mother’s sides. When they were children, Leti’s parents tended to worry a lot over Antonio. Though they are only several years apart-she younger than him and Antonio being her main big-brother figure-the two were pretty close throughout their childhood until Leti reached high school. He became too overprotective of her and she began to resent it. This inevitably culminated into a huge fight between the two of them and they lost touch with each other as Leti continued with her high school and Antonio went to college. They only recently mended their relationship a little over two years ago. Now, Antonio kind of sort of looks after her again and Leti doesn’t mind so much this time…sort of.
Since she was a little girl, one of Leti’s favorite things to do was go and visit her next-door neighbor, Alfred. She knows that it must annoy him sometimes but it still didn’t stop her then from showing up, mostly sometimes unannounced, at his house when they were children or even now at his apartment as adults.
(obviously, I’ll change/specify whatever’s needed (age difference, backstory, etc) depending on America and Spain~)
OTHER:
She loves spicy food and it’s not uncommon for her to spice up a person’s food when they’re not looking, to see if they’ll like it. Unfortunately, it’s also not uncommon for her to overdo it and give the person a one-way ticket to the nearest water fountain or soda machine. She is also very fond of silver jewelry and it’s not uncommon to find her wearing a small silver cross around her neck under her blouse. One of her favorite things in the world is a good, home-cooked meal, as both her parents are amazing cooks, and she’ll often cook her meals herself instead of buying from the food court.
Her parents also now own a small restaurant in Arizona as a result of her father’s relentless hard work and ambition. Though most of her siblings were able to graduate from college like her, they all went to local schools and most of them now just help at the restaurant or work locally. However, one of her brothers actually ended up moving back to Mexico and the last that the family has heard, he’s now mixed up with the cartels. She considers him disowned.

ACTION POST SAMPLE:
[She knows she shouldn't be goofing off at work but that email was too tempting.]
Southwest Airline prices at an all time low? Huh...
[She clicks a few links before her eyes light up and she giggles to herself.]
Looks like I can go home for Christmas this year after all!
PROSE SAMPLE:
Leticia knew that it wasn't going to be a good day from the moment she left her apartment that morning. She had forgotten to set her alarm clock the previous night and as a consequence, she woke up forty minutes late. She normally gave herself just enough time in the morning to comfortably walk out the door without rushing but this time she knew she would have to. She was not about to be one of those people accused of running on Tiempo Méxicano.
Unfortunately, this meant rushing out the door without a chance to make lunch. Though she knew worse things could happen, she still wasn't exactly happy with the idea of having to get something from one of the fast food places in the nearby mall's food court. Oh well.
Things seemed to be looking up by lunchtime in any case. She was up to speed in all of her tasks and it looked like she would be able to spend her time actually enjoying lunch instead of worrying about what to do next. Well, except for deciding what to get to eat, that is.
Actually, she didn't really have to worry about that either. Alfred had offered to pick her up something on his way out to grab lunch for himself. Though she had some reservations about it (the boy really didn't have any sense of taste), she had agreed in the end. They'd known each other long enough for him to know what she liked and didn't like, right? Right?
Unfortunately, it looked as if she was wrong on that count. Alfred had returned in a blur, dropping off her food at her desk before rushing back out with something about Matthew, leaving her to stare blankly at the bag before her. A faintly familiar smell wafted out from the opening of the bag, causing her eyebrows to crease. After a moment, Leticia considered looking on the bright side of things and considering it a case of "well, it's the thought that counts, right?" but she was HUNGRY. And this wasn't the first time this had happened. So with a huff, she rose from her seat and ran around her cubicle out to the entrance of the office hallway where the young man was just starting to round the corner.
"ALFRED!" she yelled, hands on her hips, "How many times do I have to tell you?? I HATE Taco Bell!!"

[RE: WHERE IS THE COFFEE this is really serious you guys!]
Alfred, you drink so much coffee I doubt you even know when you're drinking it half the time. I bet you just drank it without even realizing it.
It's not nice to accuse people.
