[ upon not hearing much from him, Sora took it upon himself to travel to Twilight Town and find Axel, Xion or Roxas--and he's relieved but slightly panicked when he sees Roxas surrounded by monsters. he fights through the crowd as well, knowing this place shouldn't be crowded by this many. ]

But hearing his name being called cuts through his thoughts, eyes going over to where Sora is approaching. The slightest distraction could be your biggest downfall. So he doesn't notice one of the deformed monsters coming up behind him. ]
Sora! Why are you-
[ At least not until it made a grab for him. ] Augh!

[ Sora shouts quickly through his thought, lunging at the creatures and attacking them with his Shotlock, Ragnarok. once done, he makes sure to slash through the surrounding monsters, face set in anger and determination. his bro. not yours. ]

After the rush of panic dwindles down and his breathing is on more normal levels, what Sora just said clicks in his mind and his eyes widen as he really registers.
"You don't mess with my brother!"
Roxas looks at Sora, surprise obviously on his face with some level of uncertainty. Did his Somebody really- ]

to be honest, Sora's words were on pure instinct. ]

Did you uh, know what you just said?
[ Can't stand there and keep gawking, can he? Not when the monsters seem to think they'd make delicious snacks. He keeps on the offensive alongside Sora. ]

[ a pause in fighting; he resumes. ]
Oh, you mean brother? I guess it just sorta slipped out... is that okay?

[ What's that supposed to mean? Something like that just doesn't slip out, right?
It'd be understandable if Sora called Riku that, they've been together since they were young. But for Sora to call him that, without even thinking- did that mean the other had been thinking about it before and just let it come out naturally like he did?
Roxas doesn't respond right away, his mind a whirlwind as he beats down another bug monster.
The main question is probably: did he mind it? ]
... No. [ Might have been too soft for Sora to "hear" his response but. Slashing through the monsters, standing beside his Somebody and withing with him instead of against.. Maybe he doesn't mind all that much. ]

he yelps as one creature gets too close for comfort, smacking it down with the hilt of his Keyblade. ]

[ He doesn't get to finish that as he slashes through one that's getting a little too close to Sora.
He takes a second to breathe deeply and focusing his thoughts better. ]

[ he looks over at Roxas in a fleeting glance as he again slashes his Keyblade in an arc around him, an almost circle reminiscent of how he turned on his skateboard. ]

Still, it's kinda nice and somehow, their connection feels a little different compared to before. They're aren't just Somebody and Nobody anymore. In that short moment, they became more than that. ]

because it's true--they've been edging away from being just a Somebody and a Nobody since they first met, as as they've gone on talking, really--
Sora doesn't see Roxas as part of Organization XIII. Or as part of the Nobodies. Roxas isn't like that, he's different. He did some bad things, but Sora is starting to build an unflinching faith in him. ]

[ It would make sense for it to go both ways but. If he were honest, he didn't expect it to, so he's a little surprised that Sora would offer that as well. Did the other really not mind if he called him brother in return? Of course, he probably wouldn't do it often if he did get to, calling someone family not something he normally did but.
Is that what's happening? Are they becoming something like a family? ]

[ It's still an odd thought, to consider his Other as his brother rather than half of himself but maybe in that way, they were already something like brothers?

In a lot of ways, he's probably closer to Sora than he is to Axel despite either of them knowing much of each other. They can just feel it, right? Sometimes, that's all that's needed. ]
