[He's been sleeping, that much he knows. It's actually rather peaceful, because Roxas is there too, and he can feel him, through more than touch or sound or sight. Almost like they're holding hands again, but this connection goes much, much deeper than that. They're both sleeping, and Ventus has to wonder why.]
[Just what are they waiting for?]
[The answer will come soon enough, surely, but time seems to process in odd ways, here. Sometimes it feels like it's rushing by, into years and eons, other times it crawls at a snail's pace, each second a minute that itches under his skin. Waiting, always waiting.]
[His feet touch the ground in the first time in what feels like forever. Ventus opens his eyes, to stained glass and the peaceful abyss, and suddenly he gets why.]
