[ he passes by her at first and delivers food to another group that seems to be waiting. it's only then that he turns to see her and knows there's something different.

awfully quiet, isn't she.

so he approaches with a blanket. ]

Alone, I see.

[tempestasilens]

[His voice catches her by surprise, Mysari looking up to notice Zaheer, and giving him a sad smile.]

Maybe. But I think we're all alone, in a way, staying here. We've all lost someone dear to us.

[Her fingers gently take the blanket from him, not wanting to seem hostile towards his actions or generosity. Still, there is a silence and a quietness that passes through her, humbling any kind of royal tendencies she has.

Even here, while she worked with Queen Valrune, she was still powerless to stop terrible things from happening. Again, she is the one who cannot stop the suffering of others, even if she isn't the one who caused it.

This situation pings too close to home, with her sister throwing her off the throne and destroying the harmony she was working so close towards, with humans and her own people.]

For a few, it might just be one- others, it may be more. I myself saw three of those I know die.

[The dragon girl turns her eyes towards Zaheer, curious.]

And what about you? Do you wait for someone as well?

[becomesking]

[ he remembers just putting a hand on his head before he was taken. as he was taken.

he closes his eyes. ]

I do and I do not. It is a complicated matter.

You mourn for all three. I am sorry for your grief.

[tempestasilens]

I've no place to ask, so you shouldn't worry.

[There is a pause at his words, however. She's had a while to consider what exactly this means to her, both as a dragon, and as royalty. As one, it angers her. As the other, it makes her heart grieve. As both, the conflict is painful to hold in.]

A queen is used to much grief everyday, whether it's by the hand of others, or her own doing. I'm no stranger to it, I just wish I were there to aid them when they needed me.

[becomesking]

As a king, I also not a stranger to this. I was ushered in at a time of mourning. It seems as if the period does not end.

[ he raises his eyes to her. ]

You mourn as well. You need not aid them but be part of your people.

[tempestasilens]

You are their pillar, their strength in times of great need. I am not. My throne was taken from me when I should have held onto it. I did not know of the deed at the time, but that doesn't matter to a people who are suffering and struggling to survive.

[Her eyes lower in shame.]

Mourning is all I can do. It is all I have at a time like this.

[becomesking]

[ I doubt you have shamed your people as I have.

the act of keeping secrets is not a concept that's spread through his kingdom. it's simply not the culture. but Zaheer has learned. had to learn. ]

Somehow I doubt that if you had held onto it, you would have survived. It is rarely the case.

Then grieve. Gods help your weary soul as well as everyone else's.

[That causes her to pause, then laugh, if only slightly.]

If I had, my punishment would have only been more severe. But I would be spared from death, I'm sure of it.

[Because her sister is that crazy. Yup.]

I will. And I hope to give comfort in some way, in the future.

At the very least.

I have no doubts that you will.

Nor do I doubt you will help others in your own way.

[They really can. She tilts her head a little.]
