Thank you guys for the congratulatories. ;-)
Here are the details. With pictures!
So this afternoon Matt and I went over to walk at Gunpowder State Park which is about 9 seconds away from my house. The last time we were there was
when we first started dating and I lost my cell phone which was found by the lone hippie. We went so I could do a little photographing.
After about 2 miles there was a guy in his mid-twenties coming the opposite way. Matt said, "Hey, ask that guy to take a picture of us." So I said, okay, and I kindly asked him to do so. He said sure thing, and took this photo.
Then Matt said, "Do you mind taking one more?" The guy said, "No of course not."
THEN....
"Carissa, will you marry me?"
Obviously you can tell by how RETARDED I look in that picture I was wigging out. Then said yes, durrr.
This last one came out blurry but it was nice of the guy to take another one anyway. Thank you nice random guy!!!!
I promise I don't look that retarded all the time. Look! This one's semi-okay!
It's from a different date and time but uhh...I was wearing the same shirt... XD
So anyway, then we got back to the truck, and as I'm getting in Matt goes, "Hey, look at this." He picks up a little piece of paper that was placed on the hood of his car:
We were like OMG HOW DID THAT GUY KNOW WE WERE DRIVING THIS TRUCK?!? But then I remembered I was wearing my Bills shirt and Matt has New York plates and a Bills sticker on his rear window. So then we figured the guy had some logic skills and put it all together. XD But still! That guy is awesome!!!
We are still a little sad Jinx isn't around because we had always talked about living together and how Merlin is terrified of Jinx and we'd have to keep them on opposite sides of the house, etc. But I am sure Jinx was in prairie dog heaven watching us this evening. :)
Alright. Here is the ring. It was really hard to get a not-shitty, not-yellow, not-glared-out photo so this was the best I can do for now. I'm gonna try to take a better one during daylight hours tomorrow.
It is white gold, and I believe the total carat weight of everything together is 1.14 carats. There is a main diamond in the middle, then two smaller diamonds on each side of it, then 2 teeny diamonds on each side of those going down the sides of the band. I do not remember the clarity and grade of the diamonds and I don't have the paperwork here...but I know very well that Matt was researching and learning diamonds since about May so needless to say they're pretty good.
My mom knows a lot about jewelry and took classes a while ago on how to tell real from fake, bad diamonds from good ones, so on and so forth, and she said it was a very good ring and had lots of shine to it.
It was custom-built at a family jeweler in Buffalo, which I believe is the same jeweler Matt's grandparents got their rings from, and his parents as well.
ANYWAY. Here.
I think that's it...I'll be updating my Webshots with some more crap...And speaking of webshots,
akabaka I added you to my favorite members, I hope that's ok! I wanted to feel important and have someone on my list. XD
