Don't Drink The Water
Blah blah blah. Let's see...
Firstly, I want to say <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 to you guys who left me supporting comments in my last entry. Matt and I are goign to have a very deep discussion sometime this evening. I'll let you know the outcome.
Anyway...yesterday Andrea and I went to Ocean City for the day. We left at about 5:45 AM and got there a few minutes before 9:00AM. Woo. We went on the boardwalk and rented one of those two-person bikes with the roof on them for $5. We also went into the Ripley's Believe it or Not museum. An wanted to get some Fisher's Popcorn but the line was 4566586897 miles long. So she just went to Candy Kitchen and got some Saltwater Taffy.
In the afternoon we met up with my mom and her friend Mrs. Cathy who are staying in Dewey Beach, DE until Tuesday night. Dewey is about a 25min. drive from Ocean City.
Anyway, we went to the Rehobeth Beach Outlets and I bought some nice Artichoke & Spinach salsa from Peppers, which I shall put in a bowl on top of cream cheese for Labor Day cookout. <3
Then stupid crappy Hurricane Charley was heading this way and so was causing a lot of wind and rain, even though I'm pretty positive it never really hit us dead-on or anything. Poor Florida. So, they said we shouldn't drive home that night and stay with them in the beachouse. So, we went to dinner with them at The Purple Parrot, a really good grille with a big gay bar upstairs. My mom and her possee went to the bar there last year, totally unaware that it was a lesbian bar. Her friends got drunk and sang karaoke there. XD Anywho...I had a soft shell crab sandwich. Yay!! Andrea got baby back ribs, they gave you *2 pounds* of ribs. Mom and Mrs. Cathy got pasta and such. And for an appetizer, we had Oriental Pot Stickers (Meat dumplings). Happiness was aquired there.
Then we went to Blockbuster to rent movies. Mom and Mrs. Cathy picked crap we didn't wanna watch, so we went upstairs and watched The Empire Strikes Back instead, my fave of the Star Wars movies. <3 Han just rocks my socks. Leia: I love you. Han: I know. XD
Despite the extremely loud air conditioning unit in our room, we got a really good night's rest there, and left at around 12:15 this afternoon. We were back by 2:30. Now...Ocean City from here is SUPPOSED to be a 3 hour ride but Andrea was psychotc scary driver today so we made it back in a record 2 hours and 15 minutes. Yikes.
Soo....I found out that in like...late June in the city, BEN FOLDS AND RUFUS WAINWRIGHT HAD A JOINT CONCERT. WHY WASN'T I TOLD?!?! WTF?!?!?! Really. W. T. F. I have seen Rufus before but him AND Ben together, that would rule. Grr.
But...to console myself I think I was still in Disney World at that point. Then shortly after our return we saw Dave Matthews Band in Hershey Park, PA. Man. I have seen DMB 3 summers in a row now. I'd like to see Billy Corgan live in some way again; but Smashing Pumpkins (which I would have KILLED TO HAVE SEEN) have been defunct for 4 years now...I saw his 2nd band, Zwan, twice....but they're broken up now too. So much for them. XD I would rather have seen SP than Zwan buuut....I was held up high during the first time I saw them and Billy SAW ME waving like an idiot, cause we were really close. *dies*
Hm...I'm not even a really big concert person but this post makes me sound like I am. Whatever. I like seeing DMB live because the atmosphere is really laid back, even if you're in a general admission area, because everyone's stoned and you can't really mosh to DMB. Thank God.
