i'm not sure if this entry is the proper place to bring this up, but i'm sure you'll forgive me if i chose poorly.

quite recently i became aware of how The Diamond Ring came to be part of the ceremonial process of marriage. since Roman times and up until the late 1800's i believe, the chosen symbol for the union of marriage was simply a gold band which represent a never-ending circle of everlasting love for both male and female. it was not until the South African diamond company DeBeers, headed by Cecil Rhodes and the Oppenheimer family, presented the idea of a diamond ring to The Church, and with much persuasion a business contract was agreed upon -- to indoctrinate the "diamond" ring as the chosen symbol of marital union. thus DeBeers became quite a large and profitable company and the diamond ring became the symbol of everlasting love.

You might have wanted to look at synthetic diamonds.. they're a fraction of the cost, near flawless, you can choose the color you want, and she'll never know the difference.

ummm...obviously you dont know girls.
whether you believe it or not *most girls* (there are always exceptions)believe the diamond is the physical manifestation/representation/prnouncement of your love for each other.

buy a synthetic and you might as well....well, might as well not buy it.

if you don't tell her it's synthetic she won't know... even the pros have a hard time figuring out it's synthetic....
