My monitor was on it, but it seems to have survived the crash fine. It was hanging by its cables, and still valiantly working! But yeah, the laptop probably wouldn't have survived.
Also my favourite coffee mug survived. (It and the monitor are the only two things I removed before taking the picture.) Pretty much everything seems fine except the desk itself.
The glass is safety-like, so most of the pieces are round and clumped together, but there are still some wicked sharp fragments. I started cleaning up with bare hands, and within five minutes found a tiny tiny shard sticking out of my finger. So it's gloves from now on.
It's a great desk! Except for the exploding stuff.
Also, I can't even follow up with the retailer, because I bought it used from a guy in Milton (it was a steal at $60). But I ordered a replacement pane from a local glass shop, and they've been in business since 1913, so I would hope that their glass doesn't explode quite as often.

That's... scary, considering how much crap I have on mine.
