1. christmas was good -- i got a very nice video camera and am now finally able to edit all those old tapes i made from last year into something wonderful. this was also the first christmas (meaning december 25th) i've ever spent here in virginia

SAY WHAT!? Trains are the best form on transportation, ever. Shit, they'd have been on Mars in '99 if they'd tried sending a fucking train instead of some assed-up air-plane/submarine bullshit. Assholes.

I like trains. Daddy wouldn't let me have them on my bedsheets or wallpaper. Choo! Choo!

I'm hoping that one day the U.S. government will realize the fantasticness of bullet trains. I've never been on a train (aside from Metro/subways), but I would definitely start taking them if the travel time wasn't double what it is to drive. I'd like to take a train someday, but I can't imagine sitting on one for 10+ hrs.

I'd love a postcard. tell me more about what you're doing over there. is it school related? or just for business & pleasure?

we have a little mini-term in between fall and spring terms at bennington called field work term. from january to february (not coincidentally the coldest months)we don't have classes, everyone has some sort of job or internship. it just depends on what you're interested in as to what you do/where you go...the school has lots of connections. say you're into theatre, you could go work for a theatre company or if you're into music at a recording studio. it's a really neat idea.. i don't know any other schools that do it. so, this is what i'm doing for my fwt.

and, yes, this country needs bullet trains! these slow amtrak trains bite. if they were faster, i agree, i would use them for travel waaaaay more often.
