I have always found the Californian rolling hills to be one of the most amazing things on Earth ever... While not as majestic as mountain ranges like the Andes or the Alps, the Californian rolling hills have so much character in them. Of course, the drizzle turned into a thunderstorm, with howling winds, lightning and sheets of rain, as I climbed up the hills. Just before you get to one of the crests, where you can see the Bay, and towards the South Bay, I was crazy enough to stop, take out my camera and shoot pictures, while trying to not get blown off.
Getting concerned about the lightning and the satellite dishes... but stupid me continues walking, even though my ears must be red like hell. By the time I got back down, the rain had stopped. The sun was out and there was a double rainbow.
Dumb mental tenacity for not turning back. But yes to those steep slopes. You think you reached the top, but no..... there is another slope right ahead of you. You see the 280, and you think that must be the top. Oh no.....

well, but I guess the views and the double rainbow at the end must have made it worthwhile (think NS)...
