Ugh!

I had a discussion the other day with another musician about how I wanted to support the local retailer but they always made it difficult to do so. Case in point, today I drove out of my way to buy a thumbpick at the only music store in this city of over 100,000 people. I buy all my supplies online. There's two things I hate about the music stores. First and foremost, you get the whole "I'm a better musician than you so you're not worth my time" attitude. And second, I usually know what I'm looking for and can grab it off their shelf faster than they can - I hate waiting around while they ho hum their way through the rack of gear they know nothing about. I needed a few adapters a couple days ago and the guitar center guy insisted on helping me, even going so far as making me draw out a chart of the connections I wanted to make - what a chore!
