Ohhhh, lovely :)
The sense of longing was very clear through this, and the end was very sweet :)
Thank you for the warm fuzzies!

Thanks thanks. ^_^

I always feel warm fuzzies with this pairing. It's probably because they're because they're both older so they're calmer with how they deal with relationships, I suppose.

Anyway, I tried writing smut with them and it ended badly so I think I'll stick to writing warm fuzzy fics for them. ahaha ^_^

I actually read this late last night and have been meaning to comment since. I love the idea of Mycroft expressing his emotions through music -- Satie's Gymnopedie No. 1 in particular. The meaning of that piece of music is perfect for what Mycroft is going through. Mycroft's explanation to Sherlock is one of my favourite parts of this story:

Mycroft raised a brow at that but kept his gaze on the piano, “When Satie composed this song, he wanted to evoke the longing one feels when one waits for a lover, a lover who may never come. The chords are like the chiming of a poignant clock.” He started to play the song again, “Satie knew what he was about when he composed this.”

“But must you play it so?” Sherlock replied in an exasperated tone.

“Well, I am waiting, aren’t I?” Mycroft said simply, looking out of the nearby the French windows.

^_^

The explanation is actually what my piano teacher told me when I was learning that song. I kinda forgot about it but then I read another fic where Mycroft plays the piano and then BAM! The idea hit me.

Glad you liked it. ^_^

So much awwww. Really. And so much heart break in the well, I'm waiting, aren't I? Loved the happy ending of course but that bit with Sherlock was really well done.
