I've been missing Hong Kong lately. It feels so far away from me, a long time ago. Do you feel that way sometimes?

I do indeed, my dear. I saw Wong Kar Wai's 'Fallen Angels' recently and loved it, but felt sick with reminiscing.
I love to move around and have been lucky to have lived in different places, but I find I do suffer each time more and more from nostalgia, like I leave part of myself behind in each place. You lived there longer than I did, so I can imagine how you feel homesick. My memory has smoothed out all the day to day niggles and how it was a struggle at the beginning for me without job, visa etc and now I remember and miss (sometimes horribly) only the good things, my friends, my Michael, roast duck & rice-boxes, Sham Shui Po, the back streets, the shrines, journeys on the hopper buses to the beach, the colours, smells and how in the midst of all the bloody chaos in Central I found calm.
It's hard to go back though to a place you loved, plus my friends tell me HK it has changed a lot.
Do you think you will return in the future?

I'd love to return in the future, but I find it hard to picture it. Life seems to be taking me in other directions, and I don't see myself earning enough money to be able to travel to Brasil once a year and Hong Kong.

But who knows? I'll keep my fingers crossed.

Do you think you'll return one day?
