1. Have you ever been too poor to afford smokes/drinks/food? Which was the first one to get cut?
Yes, food. At school. Man, the school cafeteria is expensive. I don't smoke, though. And the legal age for drinking here is 21. Yeah, I know.
2. What is the most pathetic situation you have been in due to lack of money?
I've had to ask complete strangers for money so that I could take the Underground to my grandmother's. One of them stared at me and then practically ran away.
3. What is the most creative thing you have done to get some extra cash?
Aplied to Harvard, because they offer full financial aid to Foreigners.
4. Have you ever been jealous of your pet for leading a better life than you?
No pet. Can't afford one. Okay, so I could afford a cat, but my dad doesn't want the mess.
5. You find $100 on the street, what do you do with it?
I sure as hell wouln't give it to the police, since in Egypt there's a 101% chance that they'll take it. Instead, I'll probably buy the most expensive pair of jeans I can. So I don't feel poor.
6. If you could pass on one piece of advice about living life in poverty, what would it be?
When you have a dollar, get a shoeshine. I know it sounds dumb, but it's the best way to enjoy life.
Oh, and learn to love ramen noodles.

Because I'm too poor to afford decent studies. And because in Egypt it's natural to be poor.
