Shows in Vegas?

Sep 28, 2007 23:10

I'll be in Vegas for a weekend in October and I'd like to catch a couple shows. I've never seen a live Cirque performance (or watched an entire recorded show for that matter) and I'd like to see one of the Vegas only Cirque shows but the questions is which one (or two)?? I am currently leaning toward O and/or Zumanity but since I know nothing ( Read more... )

Zumanity was breathtaking. It was also far more erotic than I expected, including quite a few fetishes. Each seat was higher than the one in front of it, so there were no bad seats at all. And there was some kind of package deal where a couple could sit right up front together on a comfy couch. Don't buy those up front seats unless you plan on being part of the show. ;)

Oh - and best place to sit for Cirque shows -

Love - I hear there really aren't any seats that are too bad. I think there may be obstructed seats, but those would be clearly labeled as such. Otherwise, the design of the theater is supposed to be awesome.

Mystere - I'd suggest something fairly centralized to the stage, but I wouldn't worry as much about how close you are. I think it'd be unfortunate to be too far off to one side or the other.

Zumanity - again I'd suggest something fairly centralized. If you are going with Scot, ABSOLUTELY get one of the love seats. They ruled. (note - skip the food unless you just really, really want that to be part of the experience.) They do interact with the audience a fair amount, so thats something to keep in mind. Personally, i'd give up my first born child to have been in the front seat for that show. I'll explain in detail if you don't wind up seeing it. ;)

I've been to several cirque shows and if I was going to be in Vegas with any chance to plan in advance I would be ordering tickets to all of the cirque shows I could get into.
Zumanity is supposed to be cirque done more mature and sensual, which sounds wonderful.

O is the water show, and I've watched a tv special on the making of it. OMG.

Heck, I would consider going to vegas just to see those two shows.

If you're going for the weekend of the 12th-14th check out the Age of Chivalry rennaissance faire. I'll be in a magic show (Zinger's Royal Magic) and Uffington Horse will be playing among other such fun.

Here's another vote for Zumanity. It was soo amazing. They do have couches in the front row for 2 people. They were chosing people from all over not just the front row. If you go there, don't forget to look at the peep holes.

I also heard the wedding dinner show was also great fun. I can't remember the name though.

Tony and Tina's Wedding, I believe? I haven't seen it, but its supposed to be a really fun time. It also tours on occasion, so with any luck they'll swing back through Seattle sometime. I'd love to see it.
