3rd Song - [Voice]

Everyone in the clinic has been very helpful and kind. In a place such as this, I find it admirable that such traits are still so highly valued. Thank you.

I will be on the roof for a while.

((Anyone who passes by the high school around this time may hear Lamiroir singing this song, except without the accent and uh. no Japanese, lol. She might ( Read more... )

And it just so happens that this time of day is when Demyx usually gets around to filling up the High School's water reservoir, a big rain catcher drum which sits next to Yorda's greenhouse...

When the musician hears a new voice that's certainly a lot cleaner pitched than Yorda's, however, he takes the last flight of stairs up a bit slower, listening curiously before stepping out onto the roof.

She has her back to him, and so it seems a shame to interrupt such a lovely melody with big awkward admiring hellos...so instead he contents to watch her a few moments. In fact the moisture might be well warmed up in sympathetic resonance already, so the Melodious Nocturne simply summons up his Sitar quietly, joining in on a basic accompaniment once he gets a feel for the song's flow.

[The day was fairly cold, but she only planned to stay out for so long for the fresh air and to exercise her voice. Perhaps there would be people who heard her below, and that was fine. The roof was her stage today, and though Machi was not there to guide her and she had no music to accompany her, her voice alone would be enough to create the song for others to hear and for her to take comfort in... although the song she sang had been both a curse and a blessing to her not long before her arrival in Discedo.

After a time, she noticed something joined in with her voice- a stringed instrument. A guitar? No... She continued to sing, the simple accompaniment adding a new dimension to the music. After she held out the last note, she waited until the notes of the stranger's instrument faded out. She didn't turn from where she faced the edge of the roof, slight amusement in her voice.]

That was quite enjoyable. I was not expecting such talented company.

Well I sure wasn't expecting to find anyone else up here either, let alone a talented singer, so ahh...call us even?

[Demyx grinned, fingers still riddling over the strings, picking up on the melody once she'd stopped, trying out slight variations.

In the meantime, water within the rain catcher collected and swelled out of nothing, drawn slowly into existence by the momentum of his music. It wasn't coaxing it out that was the difficult bit...he could summon up water in great gushing floods any time he wished, but getting it to stick around was another story.

But maybe after the singing to get it stirring, his element would cooperate at little better. Her voice had been an interesting start for inspiration, not really the sort of music he'd expected to wind up playing up here.]

Funny we haven't met before...name's Demyx. I run the band around here, Float.

[Lamiroir turned to face the sound of the sitar as he continued to toy with the notes of the song. Something about his music was strange to her senses, although she couldn't quite pinpoint what. It piqued her curiosity, but it was hardly something she could ask about. Perhaps it was just the instrument he used.]

It is not so surprising; I arrived here but a week ago, so there are many I have yet to meet. I am known as Lamiroir.

There is a band here...?

Is the roof really so interesting?

I believe it to be a safer place to be outside than on the ground.

I guess that's true enough. Tired of staying cooped up inside, huh?

[A faint laugh] Whether I am or not, I would not be in the profession if others did not believe so.

Thank you. It brings me joy to know that my music touches the hearts of my audience... but it is lacking, without Machi to accompany me.
