I wish Francesco Vezzoli’s Trailer for a Remake of Gore Vidal's Caligula is a real trailer for a real remake of Caligula starring Milla Jovovich, Benicio del Toro, Gerard Butler, Tasha Tilberg (“in her eagerly anticipated first lesbian screen kiss!”), Helen Mirren (her “Empress Tiberius” is awesomely over the top) and other Caligula alums, with wardrobe by
Donatella Versace.
Aside from TfaRoGVC not being a real trailer, but a short film first seen at the Venice Biennial art exhibition in 2005, my other gripe with it is Courtney Love. Ignoring her grating nails-on-chalkboard personality (a hard thing to do), she is too irrelevant to stand in for Hollywood decandence and superficiality. But perhaps that’s the point.
In the fun and kinetic music video for Basement Jaxx’s catchy Take Me Back to Your House, the clubland of tired, lonely party people is relocated to CCCPnia. The dancing in the video is awesome.

There will be nerdy nudity in West End next year when Harry Potter and his Uncle Vernon take to the stage to star in the play Equus (Latin for horse), in which Daniel Radcliffe’s stable boy character “
simulates a sex act while naked and astride a horse”.

If the graphic artist who designed the poster is going for “discomfiting”, then mission very accomplished.
