I don't work in corporate America now but I have and all of these things are familiar to me in any work setting. There's a reason why black women in particular are stereotyped as LOUD in our country. You have to be to get anywhere. Shy people don't do well in terms of career when everything's against us to begin with. No complaint. Just a fact.

scary stuff. do you think the fact that our commander in chief is a black guy might change some of this in the long run or even the short? or is he still too... abstract? (and too "white"?)

I do think he's abstract to many. His background isn't typical, nor is his biography. And yet he's black. So... easier to relate to in a way than say, GWB or other typical characters in the game of politics. I'm hopeful. And still thrilled with the outcome.
