Long time bad habit...So next week it is either Seattle, Seahawks in NOLA or Chicago, Bears in Chicago.

I have completed the first full week of my return to PT. At times it sucks to be me. But it is not all bad. Although I have a long way to go; 9 months - 1 year to get "normal", all is not so horrible. It's all about progress. Yeah, it hurts sometimes, but my mobility is improving little by little. I am currently in NOLA recovery from shoulder surgery, but mostly visiting for the Christmas holiday. The most difficult part is dealing with the boredom because I cannot drive until I get my staples out on Friday. Anyway, yesterday was good. My surgery to fix my arm (again) is tomorrow instead of next Tuesday. Looks like I will have a humero-plasty. I'm rather upset about the whole thing, but I look forward to getting better. If adding shiny objects will solve the problem then I'm OK. I just do not like being back at square one ( Read more... )

My do-over surgery is scheduled for December 19th. They will remove the hardware and hopefully the break is healed. The important part is whether or not the humeral head has been seriously damaged from the screws. If the damage is in fact beyond repair I am looking at a shoulder replacement ( Read more... )

Well, the news is not good. I saw my surgeon this morning and my arm is not healing properly. It appears that the humeral head (the ball thing that sits atop the humerus) is not creating a strong enough anchor for the screws holding the plate and arm pieces together.
