live! from the snowpocalypse

I'm currently hunkered down in large house in Arlington, VA. Outside the window, it looks like Antarctica. The papers say it's the worst since 1922 when 28 inches of snow fell on DC and collapsed the roof of a theater used as a shelter, killing 98 people inside. Come to think of it, most of the time (not all, but most), I would have been screwed--almost all above ground metro to everywhere.But during one of the worst, most beautiful snowpocalypses, I lived within walking distance to work.A half hour walk took an hour because the snow was piled high.Then we closed early.
Then there was the time I got a bruised brain walking on the first clear day of three.All the people came out.None of the sidewalks were plowed.Truck met back, head to concrete.Walkin' in that winterpocalypse is probably even more dangerous that driving in it.
Be careful.
