My two big favorites are The Winter Prince by Elizabeth Wein, and The Cursed Land by Teri McLaren. Anything in the Dragonlance series is wonderful, and the Sword and Sorceress anthologies are great, too. And, uhm... Confession. I read juvenile fantasy. I just think it's better than "adult" fantasy in a lot of cases. Can't really tell you why- in any case, in that genre, anything by Tamora Pierce or Vivian Van Velde.

We do, of course, have Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy- which should be considered as holy a book as the Bible. ^_^

If you haven't read it already you should. It is by Stephen King. It is about a woman who is beatin by her husband, a cop. She escapes and moves to another city, he follows her. It has to do with a picture she buys in a pawn shop...It is weird, but holds you at the same time. Read it, I think you'll like it. In fact I think they should make a movie out of it.
