Don't get me started. My husband is disabled and though we have a wireless handset, we leave it in the cradle to charge up every night. Without fail they ring in the morning after I've left for work and if he doesn't recognise the number now he hurls abuse at them and tells them not to ring again

IMO the Pratt thing was a prank call... LOL that takes me back to the days before the 1471 when we used to make them all the time >_< (yes, I'm MUCH older than you lol)
I don't think it was a prank though. We've been getting calls for Pratts (lol) since we got this number. I think the family who had it before us must've gone missing owing money or something. Usually they are polite back to me when I say they have the wrong number, maybe this guy was having a bad day.
I hear you on the taxi thing! My old number was one number off a taxi company, I used to have to drag myself out of bed at 2am to listen to someone try and drunkenly order the taxi. At least they weren't drunk enough to understand when I told them they'd dialled the wrong number, and I gave them the right one :D

What I don't get is why they question you when you say it's the wrong number. Like you'll turn round and say 'oh you got me!'
