Hi, with the current show I'm working on, Spamalot, I want to raise the bar on costumes and that would require a lot of distressing - using warehouse and borrowed items. I recalled this post and this sticks are exactly what I'm looking for. I plan to purchase them for my shop, but was wondering if 1: the whole set is a good value and all colors used, or 2: if it'd be better to buy the colors more likely to use, and 3: any advice on how far one stick might go, thus if I'd need to purchase a second stick of a few suck as the sweat stoke. Thanks!

I got the whole set and i have used everything, depending on the base color of the fabric, so i would say go for that.
And, depends on how heavy you are applying it, in terms of how far it goes. Maybe call the folks at Manhattan Wardrobe Supply and ask their opinion on quantities. They would have a good estimate of how much goes how far, since they provide it to films all the time, for loads of rented costume distressing. I have only used mine on 2-3 costumes at a time, and i still have a lot left, but don't know what i'd estimate for a huge show.
