Me, I believe that no one should have firearms unless they live in the rural communities with dangerous wildlife. Otherwise, the likelihood of someone getting killed just ratches up. :p
Of course when a certain community has been targeted with violence, there is a desire to arm themselves as a preventive, even deterrent measure. But the Malay have a saying, "senjata makan tuan" which is transliterally, "the weapon eating the owner". So your weapon can be used by you, or even against you.
Why can't we all just live in peace and not bother other people?
