Sounds like a great time was had, good for you! And many, many thanks for the Bones master list. When I find time, I JUST HAVE to go re-read some of my favorites, maybe around Christmas. I love giving myself prezzies.

Enjoy! Just remember that is early, early stuff. Nothing wrong with a learning curve, but those stories are definitely on it! ;)

Yes, they were early, early stuff BUT they showed the potential of your partnership even then. The attention to detail, characterization and plot, the absolute love of writing was there. Yes, you were playing with established characters and backgrounds, but we first learn to color with coloring books where someone else has drawn the picture and then we go off and learn to make our own pictures to color. I found those early stories to be excellent examples of the writer's craft - especially considering the state of most fanfiction and they are a "guilty pleasure" for me. Thanks for sharing them.

The colouring book is a great analogy. Yes, using other characters and settings allowed us to figure out story structure and plotting. Although we never took classes and learned that way. Being a voracious reader will also teach you the same thing. I remember going back and looking at DEAD and comparing it to an official writing beat sheet. I hadn't actually tried to line up the beats, it had just happened naturally. All those years reading mysteries paid off!

Glad you still enjoy them!
