A/N: Um... it's a dark!fic. Based on the song "In All My Dreams I Drown" from "The Devil's Carnival". I was just being innocent and eating applesauce and my brain said, "HEY, DO THIS THING." I continue to be a disappointment to my friends and family.

Aaaaaiiieee, gorgeous and haunting and vicious and I love it. So many glorious things going on here, from Jareth's mercurial moods to Sarah's shuddering epiphany to the many allusions.

(Side note: I caught a few wisps of Captain Hook in some description bits, and couldn't help but think of the Dread Pirate Robert's repeated "I'll most likely kill you in the morning." Coincidence from my allusion-happy brain, or intentional?)

But really, that ending. Just...mmm mmm good.

Very intentional. I love that book (and the film, naturally). There are allusions to five or six different books/stories including the super obvious ones. There's Aesop in there, and I forget what all else -_-

Loved this! We are both on a Jareth/Sea brain wave! It was graciously atmospheric and I too enjoyed the allusions. I think I need to read the Princess Bride...

You *absolutely* need to read "The Princess Bride"! The film is a very good adaptation, but it's really a unique writing style.
