Mod note: Sorry, had to stick the these here because it was just a little too long to fit in the entry!

Author's Notes: I've tried to describe the real life settings in Chicago to the best of my abilities. The University of Chicago's Oriental Institute is a neat place to visit, well worth a look even though the collection is quite small. The lamassu is enormous, and one of the most striking exhibits. I took extensive liberties with the layout of the Congress Plaza Hotel. It's situated on the harbor and the Gold Room is real, but everything else is just a product of my imagination.

Babylonian incantation bowls are a real thing. The inscription from the story was taken from this translation with some modifications, and for the bowl's appearance, I used this photo as a reference. Yay for history and archaeology and the myriad plot bunnies they inspire ( ... )

This is so well written it's like reading an actual Dresden File and makes me impatient because it's been too long since the last one! I hope its as good as this little story - I love Harry and his erratic and bumbling ways of getting the job done. I also loved your interpretation of the Labyrinth entity. I hope she gets her royals back :)

Thank you! ;D I haven't even read Cold Days yet, but I'm holding off because the series has taken such a depressing turn that I'm not sure I can bear to look. I sort of miss the happier, sillier days, so it was nice to revisit them in fanfic.

Yay! I logged in so many times yesterday hoping for the next installment.

This did not disappoint.

First, what gave me giggles:

Nuclear apocalypse, fifteen year-old girls, gigantic human-headed winged bulls from the Netherworld... nothing can keep an overdressed faerie narcissist down.

And:

Mournfully, I stared in the direction Sarah had gone. "I never even had a chance, did I?"

The Goblin King snorted, with what might've been a glimmer of sympathy. "Not even a hundred-to-one shot."

ROFL!!

This was an exquisite adventure. Man, as a writer, I'm insanely jealous of what you've produced. As a reader, I'm in that happy place where you've just read a fantastic story and the world you've escaped to still lingers.

You captured everyone perfectly. Ah. Well done, you!

I like to see Sarah come out on top. Difficult to do, with two wily leading men. :)

Thank you very much, I'm so pleased you liked the story!

This was spectacularly written! I've never been exposed to the Dresdenverse, but I find his character very entertaining, or maybe that was just your writing style. :) Also, lamassus. LOL. I cannot tell you how much this amused me, and the mention of Hamarabi. :D I loved it because I took AP Art History last year as a senior in high school, and it is so gratifying to make use of this knowledge! It's tied together so well! Great job, and thanks for taking the time to write such a wonderfully entertaining fic!

Thank you! The Dresden Files is a fun series, very action-filled and lots of sarcastic humor. It meshes surprisingly well with Labyrinth, too. ;D

If you're ever in the Chicago area, I highly recommend a visit to the Oriental Institute, then. It's got all the stuff mentioned in the story and a very cool collection for relatively small museum.
