Long Distance Relationships and the Nature of the "One"

Feb 21, 2008 16:17

Long distance relationships are extremely difficult.  I have determined this from the three previous attempts I have made at them with significant others.  One of them worked, resulting in the current close distance relationship of co-habitation.  But the time has come that distance must once again define my relationships.

So, you have a time frame for this move?

well, it's pretty flexible. It could be as soon as the beginning of May, or as late as September. Or anywhere in-between. :) The May situation is looking more likely, but I also want to see what I find out in March during my visit. I'm hoping to connect with old cronies and get a better idea of when is a good time to arrive on the scene.

The biggest factor is a living situation. I have some friends who will be looking for a new place in September and I could find somewhere with them then, but I don't think I want to wait that long to go. I'm itchin to get back east, I must confess.

Are you feeling better? It's good that you got some sleep!

It has no kitchen: the kitchen is a closet, with room for only a sink and half a fridge, with shelving above. The bathroom is bigger than the kitchen. It's rent controlled, and needs to be renovated. (Though it does have new walls since the last tenants had just had a baby and we freaked and deleaded it by putting up new walls ( ... )

I'm sure there are many Ones. Or even Twos or Threes if you wanted to try the poly thing.

You're going to move to NY just when my sister leaves and I have no more free accommodation :-)

oooh, that's convenient! You may have a bit of lag time in-between, but my (hypothetical) couch will always welcome guests.

This is a brave thing. Good for you. I'll be sorry to see you go, of course.
