I'm glad to hear it works from an unfamiliar perspective, actually, and that you still enjoyed it without knowing the characters.

I would completely recommend watching Eastern Promises if ever you get the chance, though. It's a very worthwhile film.

Thank you - I'm sad to say that I haven't seen a lot of Eastern Promises fic at all, but I did kind of fall for the film - because it was sad and it was dark and it was layered with meaning. I'm still noticing new bits of meaning sometimes. Kirill is one of those characters I'd very much like to take home and keep safe, and I'm glad you think this illustrates why that is.
