I have spoken before here, albeit a long time ago, about how I don't like the practices of drug companies, and find them generally no better than insurance companies. Today, I'm going to discuss a realization I just had, and one thing that I do like about Wal-Mart ( Read more... )

I did visit, and I just added you! Welcome to the madhouse :)

I think we may discover later, like with cell phones, that there are inherent dangers in more every day things than we might think possible. :)

That right there is a very insightful thing to say. I think you're right. Cell phones don't so much concern me, but pretty much everything else does.

And, you know, I'm fairly young. My childhood wasn't all that long ago, but I think I grew up a lot differently than the children growing up now, and I know I was given better quality food.

I don't know if it's lack of education, laziness, lack of caring or what, and even though I'm not a fan of children I know raising them is anything but easy, but you've got it right on the nose about additives and dyes and the like. mmm, fish n chips. That's one thing you guys have above us. I've had our version, and it was delicious, but I'm sure it doesn't compare to the real thing. I'm a sucker for fish.

You mentioned one of your neighbors using McDonald's for a reward, saying you thought it was near child abuse. I agree with you there. I'd like to say that I thought that wasn't widespread, that it was an anomaly, but it isn't. When I was little I saw a lot of parents doing that sort of thing. I never understood that.

People don't seem to care enough for themselves, let alone others, it is the 'instant gratification expectation and dependency on that, I feel is the culprit as people are conditioned by advertising and imagery and it is everywhere. Market over people, a sad state. I hope things change, but it will take a kind of masse epiphany, I only hope I live to see it!

I agree. Couldn't have said it better.
