don't you remember what it was like when you were eleven though...that would be so hard. you know she catches flack for it. my heart actually went out to her.
I do remember, especially as I started puberty at six and by the age of eleven had a lot of coarse dark hair in places that even full-grown women don't have it, due to my PCOS. I suppose my feminist hackles went up. I just don't think that attitudes towards female bodies and the acceptability of hair will change unless people start making it no big deal to have more hair. I'm not saying I want a kid to fight that battle, I just think it's sad that little girls are still being indoctrinated with these ideas that basically say "your natural unaltered appearance is not acceptable", you know?
