i'm wondering this myself. i mean, obviously tests are never 100% accurate, but if i was diagnosed with HIV, i'd get a second test. honestly though, you have to wonder...don't they do blood work regularly on someone who is HIV positive so they can identify when it has become full blown AIDS?

No test is 100% accurate. Also, there's the possibility of paperwork error etc. There was a guy this happened to as well that went through the VA system for years and years getting HIV treatment only to find out he didn't have it.

wow... if I ever got a positive back from an HIV test I would DEFINITELY get tested again to be sure.
