I've been writing a little bit of fanfic the past few days and so have been looking at fanfic communities and challenges, and have run into at least two that say "no slash" in the rules/profiles. Now, my question is, what if I was writing a Queer as Folk fanfic? Obviously, most of the pairings would be of a homosexual nature, so would it still be ' ( Read more... )

Are you serious? I understand a community being about a certain couple of pairings that would say that, but it's messed up for them to be about anything and not allow gay pairings. What communities are they? Did they give a reason?

Well, I don't know if they don't allow any gay pairings, or if it just applies to non-canon gay couples, though I don't think that makes any sense. One community said "This is a family-friendly group, so nothing here should be rated above what a teenager could read, and there is to be no slash." (that's from multific). I just don't get it.

That is so awful. You'd really think that in today's time people wouldn't be like that. I mean, I hate to say that because its just a fanfic, but still, you know?
