Hmm. So I've gotten past the fact that my hair is radioactively red and looks like a neon bike reflector. Maybe it will safe my life one day. In fact, I really like it. I've missed being a redhead, there is something psychologically satisfying and empowering about it. In other news, I finally got around to seeing Mad Hot Ballroom this afternoon ( Read more... )

Trust me when I say this: Magic the Gathering is possibly the most evil monetary sinkhole ever invented. This title would go to Warhammer if it was as wildly popular as MtG turned out to be. If you can play the game without spending a dime, it would be dreamy, because it is a very fun game. But as soon as you've spent money on a booster pack, you've lost the battle.

You should read other people's LJs.

So far I'm in the clear. My geektastic boyfriend has hooked me up with a green/white deck, so I have invested zero dollars, although to really be able to play, I'll most likely buy some more cards. I promise, I'll be good. Maybe I'll find a Black Lotus card in perfect condition and then I can sell it to pay for my education. I've only played once and I need to learn a bit more about how it all works.

I should read SOME people's LJs. Most of them are full of insipid crap. To put it gently. Haha.

Wow, I remember way back in the day when Da and Adam and the bunch used to do Magic...well, I don't now, but looks like everyone else still is, hehe. If only I SOLD my cards instead of giving them away...I might have paid for college...

Oh . . . ouch,

please tell me you didn't give away any of the originals from 93?

Haha. If so, you have a large heart and a small wallet. :)

Heh, I tried to learn Magic this year *blushes in shame*. I figured it'd be useful in the Honors House, seeing as how some were playing it when I first showed up - of course, the Magic thing ended up being like a month-long fad there and is now dead. I couldn't figure the game out, though: the subtle complexities of parliamentary procedure and recombinant DNA technology pale in comparison to the difficulty of this game, with all its convoluted rules. ^_^

Haha. No shame, no shame. Many a geek/nerd/interesting kid has dabbled in the dark art of card games. Yea, my boyfriend walked me through a game and we went over most of the rules. I think the hardest part is the strategic side. I feel comfortable playing, I just don't know what to play or how to play. I doubt this will be a life long passion of mine, but it is fun cast spells every now and then. ;)Maybe we can form an English study group and play Magic during our down time. Hah.

I can't wait till school starts! YAY! Go Hemingway/Faulkner/Fitzgerald

Hey, If you're bored and looking for something to do you should check out Catch 27It's like a myspace/facebook type thing except you can win prizes! No seriously, no purchase necessary. Someone from LJ invited me and at first I was confused but once you get the hang of it it's a hell of a lot of fun. It takes about 15 minutes to learn the ropes and now I'm addicted. Wanted that Ipod or digicam and couldn't afford it? Spend about an hours worth of time on this site and you may get it ( ... )
