What's this? You're seeing the boy for Christmas??
Glad to hear you both survived the "meet the parents" bit, I'm still unsure of how I got through meeting my Future Mother-in-Law and often ponder how I'll put up with it for the rest of my natural life, but "numbness" is a word that comes to mind, hmmm.
I kid--hehe, not really.
I will certainly take you up on the week long fabric district trip, so count me in! I loved the little bit of California that I got to see and would be happy to visit there again.
The Hilton lobby was very recognizable from when I stayed there in August (WorldCon), even if there was no big tree, then.
Having your own bed goes a long way to improving your perceptions of a hotel, I guess. :) I thought that Hilton, though, was a bit run down, compared to many. Still, a decent hotel.
Yeah, the Hilton did seem a might shabby, but with the human traffic they get, it's probably a losing job to try and keep ahead of daily wear and tear.
Glad you got home safe and sound and that the "meet the parents" adventure went well. :) Too bad about no fabric distric though I will be happy to acompany you on your next trip. ;)
