Back to reality.

Well, I'm finally settled enough to blog about my vacation involving many bizarre and surreal but memorable experiences, including picking the bird shot out of a wild duck I ate. I got a real taste of life in a place that could not be more different than the one I was raised in and live in, and I found that I love it: open space, natural beauty, a ( Read more... )

Thanks! I'm really starting to get in the habit of carrying my camera around and I'm getting more comfortable with using it. I can't imagine not having one now!

Beautiful photos! I think Spanish Moss is magical for those of use that dont live with it constantly. I remember when I visited my friend in South Carolina, I was fascinated by the moss and my friend kept telling me how ugly and annoying it was. :)
Your grandmother's house is beautiful! My dream is to live in an old farm house of some kind.
It sounds like you had a wonderful time. Have fun in February! :)

Apparently Spanish Moss harbors nasty insect pests and people think it's a nuisance, but I thought it was charming!

I did have a blast and I'm glad I remembered my camera this time! :)

See, dating southern men can be so fabulous! Duck hunting? Swamps? Spanish Moss? Score! Glad you had a good time and that you had a good tour guide for your Intro to Southern Life 101.

The entire trip was full of cliches, but I could not have been happier. I think I'm a southern girl at heart. :)

Great pictoral!!

I am dying to know where the boy lives! Anytime someone's from the South, I place them near my home, and how could I not with swamps and moss in your pics.

Now I'm homesick.

I'm so envious of your Grandmother's home, and of you for getting to visit there.

Sounds like your trip was fantastic! Glad to hear it!

Hahaha...I''ll put you out of your misery--the South Carolina/Georgia border area. Not too close to your neck of the woods, but the people are just as awesome! You're lucky to be from such a neat place, ya know. :)
